Freki Battlewagon Interior by enc86 Freki Battlewagon Interior by enc86
Out in the wasteland you never know what you will run into, from raiders to giant chickens. You lean to load your Freki Battlewagon to the max and it almost becomes a home away from home. Good thing it's got a lot of space, never know when you will find a slightly used mattress or snazzy almost new flip flops, those things are worth some gold pressed latinum and a good night back in town!

This is the interior section of my 1/35 Freki Battlewagon, a kitbashed Humvee. When I first built this Humvee I had to glue the roof shut (warped poor fit), rushed everything and didn't give it any stowage or interior. That always bugged me and I am happy I was able to correct that mistake this time around. I was able to build up the roof a bit with styrene and after hours of work, have made it so the roof will sit perfect but still be able to be removed quite easily. Hopefully that work is worth it and will be a neat gimmick to show off in real life.

This part of the build was very fun and you can imagine me for hours obsessing where everything will go. I wanted to give it an almost diorama kind of feel and while don't think I nailed it, I think it looks the part all right.

So how do you think you didnt nail the diorama feel? I look at this and I think of whole stories around this one vehicle! great work as usual. its like a where's Waldo, find the flip flops!

ahhh thanks dude! sometimes i am just hard on myself i guess. i mean several of my friend IRL say thats there fav one of mine(looks a bit better not zoomed in with a camera) but then again, if i was ever realy happy i would get stuck in a rut and not try to top myself. so in a way its good i am always a bit critical of myself..

Too true! Just dont be too over critical, you've gotta big yourself up sometimes! haha...

I am the same way, never good enough for my own standards, but always improving.

The fact that you gave it cargo and a backstory gives it a sense of realism. I look at this and I see it being used by real people. Excellent work you have done here

Another great build, with the cute details of some flip-flops and the adorable kitten that make this the sort of vehicle a nice couple or family might use in the event of an apocalypse. :) Again, great details that really tell a new and interesting post-apoc story.

You keep saying the stock model was crap. Which model company? Revell? Testors? Tamiya? That Czech company?
Still, you took a sow's ear and made a mighty fine purse. I like the two .30 cals and the bloop gun in the back....

it was a Academy model, i dont think they even produce it anymore(and dont know if anyone uses the molds) it was crap but free and in the end i built this so i guess it all worked out. it had made its way to the parts bin several months ago so it was good to save it from that.
anyways everyone has there favorite and most hated brands, for me my most hated is Academy.

anyways thanks, was happy with the end result!

What the hell accessory kit out there comes with flip flops?!?!?! :lmao: One of those modern Middle East subjects?  I'm thinking you spent more time on the gear than you did on the vehicle itself. Really crammed it all in there.:thumbsup:

XD
yea the BIG suitcase(under stuff sadly cause it was cool) labtop, flip flops and mattress came from the Verlinden "Middle Eastern War Loot" set. lots of weird and cool bits in that one. i have been slowly using that set to spice up my stowage XD

yea if you factor in all the time it took to clean, sand, prime, paint, weather, place  the stowage probably did take a bit longer than the entire  Humvee, but the Humvee was such a pile of crap, i thought a crazy amount of stowage was the only way to really save the build lol.

You said you spent hours to choose a place for everything... I watch this and I imagine someone who's preparing a fast escape, running from his home to this battlewagon,
throwing in everything that might be useful... really, I'm impressed, I can imagine an huge story looking at this (naturally it contains the freeky giants chicken!)
AMAZING WORK!

ahhhh thank you soo much. funny thing is i was inspired by your creations when i started work on this! i love the idea of your diorama boxes, LOVE the idea of a box being opened and having a scene. so anyways that was my idea behind this, to roof open to revealed a scene that people could image their own story's about the occupants. really did come to me one day when i was in the early stages of building it, was chating with you and thought "i really gotta try that"!

while placing all that stuff is pretty fun for me, it did take a very long time. happy that time and fun paid off!

I'm so happy to hear this!!! Happy to be of inspiration to someone else so talented!! You realized a "frozen moment" really funny to discover! The thing I love when I watch someone opening my boxes is the first moment of surprise but, must of all, the moments after it, when every little particular is discover and appreciated... the more this time persists, the more I'm satisfied by my work!:D (Big Grin)
