Stowgae and first round of details for my 1/35 kitbashed tank. a combo of OOTB, after market, bits bin junk and scatch built. while this doesnt look like much, by my last count it was around 60~ individual details/parts. i have some more stuff i am working on but some is so tiny(1/35 ammo clips, cig packs and soda cans) that i dont dare take them off pins intill its glue time. i allso have a bunch of photo etched tie downs that will secure everything to the tank.

the bulk of  the gear comes from the Verlinden M1A1 stowage set and was like a whole build in itself(as they tend to be) a very nice set i will add, highly recommend and worth the $20~ if your looking for a big set of modern stowage. after all the cleaning of the parts, trimming, sanding, priming, painting, weathering and washing, this pile took me around 14-20 hours. hopefully over the weekend i can start geting some on the tank and start work on the last round of stuff i gotta do for it.

while all this stuff might not make it on the tank, the leftovers will be loading up my next project, a kitbashed humvee to match the tank. anyways other than a few touch ups(stupid close ups show mistakes) i am really happy with how it all came out. hopefully it will give the tank a good lived in and ready to rock look.

I like the propane tank. Haven't seen a "model" propane tank. This is awesome. That tank is going to be f**king bad a$$...and ready for a long haul out in the wild wastes.

They do. They do. Especially if going up against FERAL zombie hordes outside the city limits, or marauders who just want to steal all your stuff when they think you are alone and defenseless. Bwahahahahaa!!

hopefully they will be ready, they got just about everything.

thanks friend, these sets are alot of work, but i enjoy working on them. they tend to give your moneys worth(amount of stuff and time it takes to make/paint) believe it or not, but most of this stuff i was able to get on the tank and mostly squared away.

thanks buddy, love working on these sets. don't know why but i love the look of a armor model when its just really loaded up. they sure give you enough stuff lol but most should fit the tank.

if you want buddy, i could do it, but you really should give it a shot. they really are not that bad to do, just takes some time. i tend to space it all out to avoid having my eyes burn out lol. ie clean one day, prime a few days latter ect.

lol yer i will give mine a try :) I am giving the photo etch i got from ET models another go, on my model M1070/M1000 tank transporter, i am find it a little easier this time bit i still break or muck up some bit, main thing is i am getting better, but honestly the kit is truly a one year build kit with all this extra stuff its driving me crazy ;P

lol who knows you might have fun with them. but hey if you really don't want to mess with them, send them out i would be happy to paint them up for ya(for free too, as i have so much fun on these sets)  would take me around a week to get them done and i really wouldn't mind. are they the Tamiya set that comes with the kit?

yea that PE stuff is tricky, i mess it up all the time. tho its an acquired skill and no real way to short cut it. just good tools and experience. i get a bit better every time, i wouldn't stress over them and if some doesn't get on the build who cares and who will ever know! just a shame it costs soooo darn much, that makes you want it all on the kit lol

i hear ya about that tho, all that stuff can burn you out. i have done two this year(pbr with PE set, aftermarket fig and stowage  and my current tank with PEx2,aftermarket figurines and stowage sets x2)  all that stuff is a bit to get your head around, all the parts, instruction sheets and stuff can be crazy. i try not to think about all the stuff and focus on the step at hand(easier said then done) sooner or latter it will get to the 75% mark and you will  get that final push you need.

thank you very much for the offer to paint the items :) i may take you up on it see how we go. Its the Legends set, i find they quality really good. Yes you do have to work on the thing at hand and when you have the etch and other bits you always have to read up plan ahead so as to see what bits are needed or not needed.

But thank you for your advice and help so far, such a shame your so far away id get you to show me how you weather and paint your items would be good to learn from a master modeller.

well if at any point you want something outsourced, the invitation is open.
very nice, i have been looking at some Legends sets lately, still trying to find my next big build. they look really nice and tend to have alot of life, from the ones i have looked at.

welcome buddy, anytime! i wish i was closer to stuff as well, would be fun to meet up and do a painting demo. maybe at some point ill get my act together and get into youtube. would be much easier for me to explain/show how i do things. lol i am no master but someday i hope to be!

There is one item of G.I. gear that can be the difference between a live grunt and a dead grunt. Socks. Cushioned sole, O.D. green. Try and keep your feet dry. When we're out humpin', I want you boys te remember to change your socks whenever we stop.

Watch out man! I hear the Ptarmigans are starting a winter underground resistance movement. They may have infiltrated the local area.

So if you start to see the chickens wear little tiny berets and find little tiny maps with (actual) chicken scratches on the them, --Take precautions.
