Leopard 3 by enc86 Leopard 3 by enc86
With global tensions heating up, a new variant of the leopard was rushed into production. To save on cost and time it was decided that the leo3 would be a re-engineering and upgrade of existing leopard 2. New suits of advanced targeting, sensors and armor have been introduced. The main armament was also massively upgraded. For the first time on a tank a rail projectile cannon was introduced. Using magnetic rails, the Leo 3 is able to fire a super-heated projectile that can easy slice through even the most heavily armored targets. The crew has been given a new helm system to provide real time battlefield date and mission statistics. With the release of the leopard 3 a whole new generation of battle tanks starts.

This is my 1/35 Tamiya Leopard 3, kit bashed from bits, bobs and random gundam parts. Hand painted with enamels and weathered with acrylics. I stared this kit months and months ago and it really stumped me. Over ambition and me being overlay critical lead to this one taking me a long time and it siting half finished in a box. Once I moved into my new house and got my new office (tank factory) set up, I knew it was time to finish it up no matter what. While not my best and for me pretty plane looking, I am happy I got it finished so I could move on to BiGGER (literally) and better projects.

As always questions and comments welcome!

Well, sice I´m building models myself I know very well that drawing the thing and actually buliding it is quite different. Therefore congratulations again!

One of my ideas was going for the heli-carrier 88 in Avengers. But that is still only an idea.

Got me the George Washington though, and ordered some extra planes - whose Wheels were quite the pita to paint...

So...keep up the good work. love to see more of it, and maybe read you soon

yea my initial designs/ideas always have to be changed a bit once the build gets underway, but that can be half the fun. it can be surprising where a build will take you.

ahhhh that sounds like a really cool idea and project! sounds like you are off to a good start and have some choice bits on hand.

thanks i will try to!

lol yea i know, i use that term very very loosely.

a little bit but not really(some basics glued and constructed). was going to be my next build, but since i have been back on DA i have seen alot of people build that kit while i was away. gotta go back to the drawing board and come up with something a bit more extreme for it, to have it stand out from the crowd XD
