M113 Fire Support

The FSV(Fire Support Vehicle) variant of the M113 was nicknamed "The Beast" and for good reason. It took the hull of a M113A1 and fitted it with the turret from the Alvis Saladin armored car. It boasts a 76mm gun, a .30 caliber coaxial machine gun and a .30 caliber machine gun mounted on the roof of the vehicle's turret. Along with smoke launchers the M113 FSV could not only move 10 troops but provide much needed support fire for them.

This is an older 1/35 Tamiya kit, painted in Enamels and weathered with art acrylics and pastels. Built "outta the box" with the exception being the figure, who was frankensteined from the bits box. Overall I was happy with the kit but it was significantly less detailed than the Academy m113 i just built. Originally I had planned on doing some cool outside shoots with my two M113's but i got a snow storm so that will have to wait.
