M60A1 by enc86 M60A1 by enc86
So i was cleaning my "where's bob" diorama(constant battle with dust) and realized that i never got a shot of it by itself. so after some cleaning and removal of a figurine, i did a quick photo shoot. this project was a ton of firsts for me, first tank, first figurines, first diorama. this project made me fall in love with dioramas and Tamiya.
Anyways it was good to realy look at it and see how i have improved.

I'm building that very model for my Dad, only without the reaction plates and in 80's olive drab.

Thanks! Yeah, he loaded/drove/shot and commanded the M-60A3s. This'll be my 3rd armored vehicle, it's much more complicated then the Warhammer 40k tanks.

ahhhh very cool! then he will really LOVE it!

yea i have hear that(and seen the kit differences) tamiya tanks can be pretty tame compared to other brands out there. while they have some great details, the kit really should present too much trouble for you.

I really like this one. M60s got me into 1/35 tank models as well. I started out re-building a real M60A3, and I wanted a model of one, so I started and kept building them until I got one I was ok with. I plan to revisit the Tamiya M60A3 at some point in the future and post my results. With photo etch, aftermarket details and replacement treads, this is actually not too bad of a kit. I am glad you built this one and got into the hobby so that you could share the rest of your collection with us

Always good to see past work and realize the successes and mistakes, and how oneself is learning and improving ...

Sweeet! The armor plates look really cool! It's like, reactive armor, or something?

yup its reactive armor, lol and its the main reason why i bought this kit. seeing those slabs of armor everywhere i thought was badass.

Tamiya is one of the best and a brand I can recommend, my Panzer IV is damn cool :) But one of the tracks cracked so had to do some repairs, only visible if you hold it up in the air and look on the down side of the tracks XD

This M60 looks great for being your first serious model! :D Way better than my King tiger which was my first real attempt :)

yea i gotta give it to tamiya, when i picked up this kit, i didn't realy know if i would get into tanks. i am sure if it had been a crappy kit i wouldn't of made may more. fortunately for me this kit was fantastic! tho being an older kit, it was a blast to make. so far every tank i have made is tamiya and none of them disappoint. lol i am now kind of a tamiya junky lol, and have a ton of there products in my model closet.
anyways thanks dude!
