Description

so i am trying to get better at taking photos of my models, so today i went out and took tons of of photos of my "fight with double evil" diorama [link] i wont discus how many photos i took but lets say it was somewhere near a trillion. there was only a hand full that i liked and while i wont post many this is one i liked because it shows my main Nazi zombie quite well.from this photo and the setting i put my camera on his face looks quite green lol. well good to know for next time, i doubt this will be the last time i have zombies in a diorama

good composition of the elements on your shot  - you achieved a realistically framed first person shooter look

if I may offer a suggestion - one of the biggest problems with shooting minis is that people try to scrunch up on the ground next to their mini or try to lift the mini to a setting where a shot with a regular sized camera is possible - it is immensely easier to photograph your minis with a cheap gopro type sports camera with wifi (about $26-40 in 1080hd format)  the wifi allows you to frame the shot on your laptop and, using a $7 bluetooth shutter remote - once you have the pic framed - just press the remote to trigger the shutter.

then you can add overlay elements like realistic tank fire, smoke, flames in the computer for even more realistic effect

it really allows you to tune the picture for the look that you are seeking

and I figured that out after taking a couple or three or four or five trillion shots plus of my own   :)
