Here is my model of a Viper MK II during the first Cylon War, piloted the "Baron". Manfred Tigh brother of Saul Tigh was a top viper ace who became obsessed with a warrior from earth legend. he even went as far as having his viper painted red and had ancient markings added. After 80 victory's, Manfred was shot down during the defense of caprica and is believed to have died during the crash....
Anyways this was a very fun project and an excellent model kit. the kit is made by moebius models and was of high quality, my only real complaint is that the decals provided with the kit are quite thick and heavy. so i skipped them and just used some left over German tiger markings. i had a hard time geting photos of the red but was able to correct that in editing. the one big thing i learned on this kit was some basic Photoshopping and editing.
BIG thanks to for suggesting the baron idea to me. without him it probably would of been some sort of gray.
thanks, this one was really fun and i dont do "jets" so building it was quite the leaning experience. yea red can be very tricky in both painting and photography. this is the model that forced me to start using editing software. no matter what i did, i could not get a "true red" studio shot.
Very nice. A red paint job usually says, "Shoot me!" but someone as skilled as the Red Baron, says, "I'd like to see you try,"- right before he guns down those who did.
Btw, I managed to take a look at a piece of the original plane of the legendary fighter ace Manfred von Richthofen, nicknamed "The Red Baron", while I was in London on vacation.
They have all sorts of war machines and equipment over there. Especially from the First and Second World War. In the Imperial War Museum, for example. If you are interested in that sort of stuff, I can highly recommend it.

I am currently building it. I think I will make it as if it crash landed on a planet. One of my numerous projects.
sounds cool! i keep wanting to do a "crash" scene with something. i usually only have one project going but tons of ideas XD
yea plus red makes it go faster!
