Tiger 1 by enc86 Tiger 1 by enc86
Here is my finished 1/35 Tamiya Tiger 1 early production tank. this kit was tons of fun and had excellent details. lol tho some of the details are hidden, i.e the interior turret details, and the INSANE amount of road wheels(32 in all). the only major problem i ran into was the paint i used, which for some reason went on kinda weird and somewhat streaky. after a brown wash its hardly noticeable tho. after i figure out a diorama for this bad boy, i will add some pastels as well.
All in all i am happy with this build and looks might impressive siting on my shelf with my collection.

This looks exactly like the 21st Century Toys Tiger 1, even the rubber rope on the side plating. Hm...

hummmm well i can assure you its a scale model that i assembled and painted. alot of the tanks i have worked on have that "rope"

I know, it's smaller than the 21st Century toys model.

And I'm still looking for vinyl tracks to build my 1/35 Tiger I from Italeri.
Because I hate those damn "link-by-link" tracks.

I've builded many years ago a 1/35 ZSU Shilka from Dragon, who had those kind of tracks.
Since then, I avoid them like the plague.

lol yea, i have herd similar stories. i just think they would fall apart when i tried to paint them(no air brush) so i have avoided them as well.

I just hope to find soon the vinyl tracks for buidilg my 1/35 Tiger I.
Otherwise, I should start to save some money and buy a Tiger I from Academy (those have vinyl tracks).

my tamiya came with the vinyl tracks as well. i think mine cost around $28us and was well worth it.

In my case, it would be a little more.
Because where I live (somewhere in South America), a 1/35 Tiger I from Academy costs $63us.

ouch! is that from the internet or hobby shop? anyways i would say my tamiya was worth that. i have paid more than that for some of my gundams and i get alot more fun outta my tanks so...

Dude, insane ammount of radwheels... I did 1:35 scale paper model of Maus. 96 roadwheels. Try doing that...

aaaanyway. Exelent model! Try to make him look more... used. Rusted. With laughable scratches from useless 76 mm russian guns. Stuff like that.
