I really like the design of the Merkava. It's a really sinister looking tank. The other two are threatening, but something about the Merkava is just mean. Gotta love that feel on a weapon!

yea the Merkava series is really "sinister" looking! i like the abrams and challenger but they share alot of the same lines and from a design stand point are not tooo different.

And the Merkava is the best of the three - in real life, at least.

As a former Abrams "Jedi" tanker I must disagree. The Abrams is battle proven. The ancient M60A3 (with a decent crew) could out shoot a Challie. What puts the Merkava so far ahead is that the Israelis have the best trained tank crews in the world.

I wasn't actually judging based on combat experience - as far as I can tell, most of the big names today (Abrams, Challenger, Leopard) aren't all that different from each other. I just think the Merkava has the most interesting design (high emphasis on crew survivability, plus it's an Israeli product).

What's a "Jedi" tanker?

It's what M60 tankers called M1 tankers back when both trained side by side.

Because the M1 is the Superman of tanks, or for some other reason?

Heavy and random with a blaster compared to the elegant, sleek finesse of a light saber. Slip into that gunner's seat and reach out and touch someone 3000 meters away while going 35 miles per hour cross country in five seconds. Meanwhile the stabilization speed of the M60 was 12 mph and the maximum range 1500 meters and you'd take 15 seconds to get the round off because the M60 was not designed to fire on the go.

lol i knew this would come up sooner or later! your right the Abrams is very effective, plus the usa does have a impressive force.when i see video of columns of Abrams rolling there is no denying how incredibly mighty they are. the Challie has speed and a sexy deign tho. and is still a word class tank.

the Merkava has a great design that puts the crew and their survivability first. thats very cool and just looks incredible. plus i think training and living in there environment only helps them acquire experience.

lol anyways i am no expert, you know tons more than i do.

lol its kinda in limbo right now as i have really really run outta room and dusting kills alot of my work(playing outside doesn't help ether XD) i am slowly moving all the ones i am keeping to a family members house(with huge empty nice display) hopefully in the summer i will get getting/making/installing or something more nice and permanent at my house.
as of over a year ago it looked like this [link] but became soooo much more crowded once i started making tanks.
