Yamato Dry Dock by enc86 Yamato Dry Dock by enc86
Here is my Finished 1/1000 space battleship Yamato dry dock diorama. featuring my Bandai 1/1000 Yamato and Uncf fleet set #2, with kitbashed and scratch built details. the base dimensions are roughly 12cm by 30cm and  built from scratch out of styrene plastic. most of the buildings, cranes and such were kitbahsed from a bandai  1/700 Chikyu kit. while a little bit out of scale, for the most part i think they look pretty good bashed and converted here. other random assortment of details were fished from the bits bin.

Overall i am really happy with how this one came out. a few things might need some tweaking(the front plaque and some of the yellow scaffolding is sightly off) it was kinda hard to tell as the diorama(and bits for it) are quite small and fiddly. i really had a blast building this scene up and it makes for a pretty interesting display in my collection. this is by far the smallest scale i have ever attempted so i am pretty happy with the amount of detail i was able to squeeze in this one. my eyes are about shot after working on all these small bits so for my next project will be in the biggest scale i have ever attempted , 1/20(tho the model is still on the smallish side) hopefully i can do as good of a job with that one.

As always questions, comments and suggestions welcome.

Amazing work once again.  Really like how you made the cranes and scaffolding stand out.  It's tough to get the right scale on everything, but everything really comes together on your diorama.  A great edition to your sci-fi collection! :happybounce:

thank you very much buddy.
yea i had never worked in this scale(and its wayyyy smaller than i am use to or attempted) so i was worried something would stick out as "off" or the scene would be too cluttered but fo the most part i think i was able to pull this one off.

Y'know, just when I thought you couldn't get any crazier...damn detail, dude.
You should make your own little Starblazers movie.

okay, let someone else make the movie, it would be a shame to let such fine detail work go to waste.

One of my biggest problems in life is having many ideas, yet no creative outlet for them so yeah, I hear you.

this a smaller one i picked up. i have that BIG one in my stash, its a freaking awesome kit, really really decent sized. i just didn't know when i would get around to building the bigger one(have some BIG plans for it) so i picked up and built this smaller one. lol don't know if i would have room to try something like this with that one but we will see.
