Description

Here are the contents to my Meng 1/35 D9R armored bulldozer. seeings how i have finished a few projects(got a couple more to post) and one more almost finished thought now would be a fun time to tackle this kit. This is my first experience with Meng models, so it can be daunting trying something new. this kit has been sitting my shelf for awhile an just looks wild. i am planing on doing a WIP series on this build so i thought a good place to start would be with the kit.

this kit, wow, just wow. probably in my top 5 biggest model boxes i have ever had the pleasure of getting my paint stained hands on. BIG box, awesome presentation, killer heavy manual, and tons and tons of parts. i sometimes complain about cost of kits(and when this kit is back ordered its is crazy $$) i was lucky and got this kit for around $60 us, and for that i am super duper impressed by meng. even if i had bought it for twice that, i think i still would of been impressed.

full color paint sheet, awesome manual, plastic tubing, high quality decals, smaller PE sheet(that's minor one flaw) overwhelming aweosme tiny details, great high quality easy track links and two sets of clear windows. Judging by the contents of the box this kit really is amazing and loaded with stuff and detail, i had to put a leaf in the dining room table just to spread it all out(and  have a big dinner table) little to no flash and very very crisp modeled detail on each part. the overall models biggest features are working dozer blade, full interior and impressive size for the scale.

Biggest draw backs i can see is price(if sold out, as they cant make them fast enough it seems) the smaller PE sheet,no paint mask and some very noticeable injection marks for the interior sections. i know there are a couple of PE aftermarket sets for this, so it would of been nice for them to include more with the kit(but a smaller sheet is totally better than none at the price) i have had several cheaper armor models come with paint masks for windows so its kinda odd they didn't throw those in .the injection pin marks probably there was no way to be avoided(as then they would of been on outer hull) This looks to be a really awesome model, i would recommend it to anyone of intermediate skill, as it does have a ton of parts and some complex assemblies and use of different materials.

Overall I am super impressed and excited to get tearing into this beautiful box of plastic. stay tuned for a WIP on this thing.

As always questions comments and suggestions welcome.
